The bellows can be extended from 2 1/2 to 8", which together with the special 135mm S-Planar lens, provides a focusing range from 21" (1:1 scale of reproduction) to infinity.

The steel and light alloy bellows extension has bellows made of supple leather. It is fitted with a double cable release 40142 for simultaneous operation of the lens and camera mechanisms, thus enabling full use to be made of the camera's automatic features. The shutter is cocked manually by means of a special device fitted to the bellows lens mount.
